The mail is here and it's quite clear
I haven't heard an iota,
From my boy in blue who fights the Sioux
Way up in cold Dakota.
The crazy fool could have gone to school
But he heard the bugle call,
So he took a horse and joined the force
And left real late last fall.
Now it's my guess he's with the best,
So I don't feel to flustered
'bet he's proud to be in the Calvary
Under General George Armstrong Custer.
